In light of recent developments concerning the COVID-19 virus and to ensure the continued health and well being of the ACT badminton community, the ACTBA has decided to postpone the ACT’s preeminent badminton tournament, the ACT Open, which was scheduled to have been held at the Australian Institute of Sport from 2-3 May 2020.
In a recent teleconference call with Badminton Australia and representatives of all state and territory badminton bodies, it was agreed that we will all again meet (via another teleconference call) on 24 June to discuss and agree to possible future dates for all of our postponed tournaments. At this stage, and noting the evolving nature of the situation in relation to the COVID-19 virus, the ACTBA would be looking at hosting the ACT Open towards the end of the year.
