ACTBA “Shuttle Time” Course for ACT PE teachers a hit!

The Association delivered the “Shuttle Time Teachers Reduced Course” to teachers at Melba Copland Secondary School in Term 4. As the course is a TQI Accredited professional learning program, teachers could claim attendance towards their professional development.
19 teachers from 5 ACT schools attended the course. Teachers had little knowledge of the sport but were eager to learn and play. Shuttle Time materials such as the App and video clips were a “hit” as they were readily accessible and gave teachers the “Know How” to plan and deliver badminton lessons.

Best attended ACTBA Interclub Teams Challenge

In the ACT’s first tournament since the end of the ACT’s COVID-19 lockdown period and relaxation of restrictions on indoor sports activities, the InterClub Teams Challenge held on Saturday, 26 September was the best ever.  Notwithstanding the unusually cold day for this time of year (with snow on the Brindabella Mountain Range), 133 players from 11 clubs (out of 13 active ACTBA clubs in the ACT) formed 30 teams across four grades (Open, B, C & D) to play a round-robin event in a wonderful spirit of friendship and camaraderie.  It clearly showed that badminton in the ACT remains strong
