The ACT Government has now announced that the Stage 2.2 of the easing of restrictions will commence on Friday, 19 June 2020 (see  This will provide for up to 100 people to play at indoor sports centres, subject to the one person per 4sqm rule.

This effectively means that all ACTBA affiliated badminton clubs can resume their social sessions.  However, as some of the facilities that clubs hire are having some issues arranging for the reopening of their venues (largely related to sourcing cleaners), please see any notices individual clubs have placed on this

Aspire Badminton Club

When/Where: Wednesday, 6.00 pm – 7.30 pm (Junior Coaching) at Canberra Grammar School, Golden Grove, Red Hill [Google Maps]

Sunday, 1.00 pm – 2.30 pm (Junior Coaching) at UC High School Kaleen, Baldwin Drive, Kaleen [Google Maps]
Due to Kaleen High School's inability to secure suitable cleaners over weekends, the Sunday sessions will not be resuming for the three weekends commencing 20 June 2020.

Belconnen Badminton Club

When: Saturday, 3 – 5 pm

Club will reopen when the 50 player limit is allowed (currently scheduled from 20 June 2020).

Bermagui Badminton Club

Gungahlin Badminton Club

Due to overwhelming demand to join the club and a complete lack of available facilities to play badminton in the Gungahlin region, membership of the club is currently suspended. The reopening of membership will be considered after seeing how many members return to club sessions after the COVID-19 restrictions on player limitations are lifted to 50 people from 20 June. Non-members will not be permitted to attend (to be reviewed after experiencing member attendance in the weeks following the commencement of the 50 player limitation and to be at the sole discretion of the Committee member(s) managing individual sessions).

Northside Junior Badminton Club

When: Wednesday, 7:30 – 9 pm
Where: UC High School Kaleen, Baldwin Drive, Kaleen [Google Maps]
The training session starts this Wednesday 29th July for the juniors who are aged between 8 to 18 years old, and are willing to commit.
We welcome the juniors in all levels from beginner to advanced.

Sessions are only held during school terms.

Membership will be $5 for the remainder of 2020 and session fees $5.

Lions Badminton Club

Sunday Sessions : Non-members , please note, You may only play if the number of members do not exceed maximum on the day as we have enough fully paid members .

Northside Badminton Club

Southside Badminton Club

Updated 3 April 2019 – Non-members who wish to play at Southside Club may not be admitted depending on the number of people attending each session; this will be at the sole discretion of the Club Committee member(s) running each individual session.

University of Canberra Badminton Club

Closed until further notice.

UC Badminton Club is closed and will not be re-opening in 2020 and beyond.
