In the ACT’s first tournament since the end of the ACT’s COVID-19 lockdown period and relaxation of restrictions on indoor sports activities, the InterClub Teams Challenge held on Saturday, 26 September was the best ever. Notwithstanding the unusually cold day for this time of year (with snow on the Brindabella Mountain Range), 133 players from 11 clubs (out of 13 active ACTBA clubs in the ACT) formed 30 teams across four grades (Open, B, C & D) to play a round-robin event in a wonderful spirit of friendship and camaraderie. It clearly showed that badminton in the ACT remains strong and that players were very keen to compete again in a social atmosphere against other Canberra clubs.
